2 Injured In Accident East Of Finley
A woman and child from Devils Lake were injured when their SUV rear-ended a Peterbilt carrying a gravel trailer Thursday morning east of Finley. The North Dakota Highway Patrol tells R&J News the Peterbilt, driven by a 53-year-old Hillsboro man, and a SUV driven by a 31-year-old woman from Devils Lake were both northbound on Steele County Road 8 around 11:25 am Thursday. The Peterbilt was on the north side of a hill preparing to stop for a stop sign at the intersection with State Highway 200. The SUV hit the rear of the gravel trailer after cresting the hill. A 31-year-old woman and a 2-year-old boy were taken to a local hospital; the woman’s injuries are said to be serious. The driver of the Peterbilt was not injured. The North Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
