4H Changemakers Project at Ada Borup West
Ada, MN – The Ada Borup West School students are the benefactor of the first of hopefully many more 4H Projects from the Changemakers academy. The person behind this changemaker project is Madalynn Crompton from the Ada Borup West School, and in the summer of 2021, Linda Houglum, Extention Agent for Norman County 4H called and invited Madalynn to take part in the first ever MN State 4H Changemakers Academy. Only 9 students in Minnesota took part in it. The goal was to come up with a project that would make a long lasting positive difference within our community. Madalynn shares the project she has now displayed and in use at Ada Borup West.
Crompton tells us more of the project and some of the businesses and community members who have helped make it happen.
Crompton is using this first month as a test run, and will develop the baseline to eventually have more boards to come.
Crompton hopes that this will continue to be accepted and treated will by students in the school, as the board is posted just outside of Mrs Stertons room in the school. The motto of the board is “Take what you need, leave enough to share. Be Respectful!” A thank you goes out to others who helped make this project a reality including Ada Borup West School Staff, Tyler Visser, Shock-N-Awe, Dawn Miller and Essentia Health-Ada, Linda Houglum and Norman County 4H, Sutton Stewart and the other 4H volunteers, and countless others who have donated supplies to Madalynn. If you or your company would be willing to donate funding or supplies to this project, please reach out and Madalynn will come visit with you. The Bank account is set up at United Valley Bank, Twin Valley.
