52nd Annual Snodeo is March 5th & 6th on North Twin Lake
Naytahwaush, MN — The Naytahwaush Nightriders continue a more than five-decade long tradition of snowmobile fun this weekend with their 52nd annual Snodeo on North Twin Lake. Snodeo offers two full day of snowmobile racing and riding activities for professionals as well amateur thrill seekers and snowmobile enthusiasts. Both Saturday and Sunday will feature Cor Powersports Cross Country Racing and Youth Snowmobile Racing with the KC Pro West series, according to club member Carrot Paul.
The Dawn Kirsch Memorial Radar will offer just one day of high-speed, straight line runs on snowmobiles this year instead of two. Paul says the first run starts at 9am and there should be a class for any and every snowmobile.
A vintage snowmobile show and ride will take place on Saturday during Snodeo as well. Judging will be at 1pm and the ride will be at 1:30.
The Naytahwaush Nightriders will also be giving away a brand new youth snowmobile on Saturday night as well up at Pinehurst. Paul says tickets are in high demand.
This year’s Snodeo will be an emotional one for the Naytahwaush Nightriders members as it will be the first one without Tommy McArthur, who passed away in a snowmobile accident just a few weeks ago. Paul adds that McArthur played a big role in organizing the annual Snodeo event and was a cherished part of the local snowmobiling community.
All the racing events start at 9am both days. There is a $10 gate fee, which helps support trail maintenance. You can find the full list of events and more by visit the Naytahwaush Nightriders Snowmobile Club on Facebook or their website, www.naytahwaushnightriders.com.
