USDA Undersecretary Comes To Waubun

WAUBUN, MN—A new business in Waubun had a visitor from Washington Wednesday.  Dr. Basil Gooden is USDA Under Secretary for Rural Development.  He came to check out B & T Meats in Waubun….a meat processing plant that recently opened its retail store.  B & T received a $4.1 million loan from the USDA plus a $963,000 grant to help build the business.  Dr. Gooden says the loans appear to be a good investment.

Paul Benson, co-owner of B & T, says business has been good so far.

B & T currently makes beef and pork products…and Benson says there are plans to add bison to their menu in the future.
