Pedestrian & Bike Safety For Kids

Kindergarteners at Ada-Borup-West Elementary School got a lesson about pedestrian and bicycle safety Wednesday.  Kim Myers, wellness coordinator for Norman Mahnomen Public Health, talks about her work in the classroom.

Myers says she’s a little surprised that more young children aren’t aware of basic safety for crossing the street.

And while kindergarteners are a bit young to ride a bicycle, Myers says it’s important to get them in the habit of wearing a helmet early.
