Voyageurs Volleyball start October 1-0
During the latter half of the month of September the Rainy River Voyageurs Volleyball team would have a long road trip of away games. It wouldn’t be until their first October game that they’d return home, hosting MN North – Hibbing in a MCAC nailbiter.
The Voyageurs would start October 1-0 after beating Hibbing 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-23), with set 3 finishing with an epic comeback from the Voyageurs when they were down 20-23.
I spoke with Anahi Martinez and Jocelyn Copeland after the win and asked how they felt after the big home win.
Anahi was then asked what she felt was her biggest highlight.
Jocelyn’s highlight was definitely her 3 ace serves in a row that had put the nail in the coffin for the third set victory. So she was asked how she was feeling in that moment.
Their next games will be on Saturday, and who are they facing?
Last night’s win puts them at 11-6 overall and 8-3 in the conference, and do they think the win against Hibbing pushed them up the rankings?
So compared to the beginning of the season, this is what they think has been the biggest improvement.
They were then asked who their next conference matchup is.
And the two had some fun shoutouts to give to their families.
The Voyageurs head to Mesabi on Saturday the 5th where they’ll play a couple of non-conference opponents starting at 11am.
