Twin Valley City Council discusses cannabis ordinance and contract with Norman County Sheriff’s Office
The Twin Valley City Council met in regular session on Tuesday night. A discussion with Norman County Sheriff Ben Fall was the agenda item that took the longest as the city is still trying to finalize a deal with the county. Twin Valley Mayor Mike Bolton summarizes the discussion with Sheriff Fall and explains when an agreement will be finalized, and what it will include.
Discussion about the adoption of a cannabis ordinance was also a lengthy discussion for the council, and Bolton says the council tabled any action on an ordinance until next month.
Bolton says the Twin Valley Fire Department held their fire chief election earlier this month, and that the council approved the appointment of a new fire chief.
Lastly Bolton gave an update on the sizable project being done on the Twin Valley Lagoon and Herald Court.
Other agenda items for Tuesday night included the Canvassing of the 2024 General Election, and the approval of an easement for Dollar General. The Twin Valley City Council will meet next on December 2 for their budget meeting, and the final approval of a policing contract with the Norman County Sheriff’s Department.
