In International Falls, the Broncos Boys and Girls Basketball teams took advantage of not having school on Presidents Day by hosting a doubleheader against Two Harbors. The Girls team was the first to play Two Harbors where they would be in a back-and-forth battle with the Agates that ended in a tough, close loss for the Broncos 51-43. Piper Tomczak, and Cheznee Skrien led the team in scoring with both getting 10 points each.  They return to the court tonight at home against Hibbing, and you can tune into the game live on The Bear 95.3FM and 1230AM KGHS. The Boys team would play right after, and after a close start in the beginning of the first half the Broncos’s short bench would catch up to them.

Which Brennen Mcclanahan was asked how the teams tries preparing for that scenario.

After trailing at halftime 39-17, Two Harbors would go on a run to win the game 75-33. Carter Line led the scoring with 7 points and Brennen Mcclanahan would score 5 with one being off a 3-pointer.

The Broncos are a fairly young team with time to develop.

They’ll get a couple days off before going on the road to Deer River on Friday, 2/22.
