Voyageurs Volleyball in Thunder Bay

The weekend of February 21st-23rd the MN North College-Rainy River Voyageurs Volleyball team had made an offseason trip to Thunder Bay, ON. Part of the road trips purpose was to meet with a new recruit, Claire Desjardine who has signed with Rainy River Voyageurs!

Claire is currently a key player on her 18U High Performance team, led by program coordinator and Lakehead Women’s Volleyball Head Coach Hayden Nichol, and coached by John Curtis and Emma Korolenko. Over the weekend, she and her teammates had the opportunity to watch the Voyageurs take on the Confederation College Thunderhawks and even train with Head Coach Shelby Nosan and the Voyageurs. Nosan, who was named MCAC North Division Coach of the Year this season, led her team to an impressive 16-12 overall record and a 9-5 conference finish.

So I got to speak with a couple of freshmen on the Voyageurs, Jocelyn Copeland and Duru Ildir to talk about the trip.
