Parents encouraged to check on their child’s car seat
Norman-Mahnomen Public Health recently held a car seat checkup event, and a worrying trend was discovered during the event. Ashley Braun of Norman Mahnomen Public Health says a vast majority of car seats were being misused.
Braun says it’s also important for parents to get their child’s car seat checked, because Minnesota recently had new car seat laws go into effect.
Minnesota and North Dakota do have different laws when it comes to a child’s carseat, and Braun tells us what you should do if you do a lot of traveling between the two states.
Parents, guardians, and childcare providers with questions regarding their child’s car seat should contact Norman-Mahnomen Public Health at 218-784-5425.
