We’re at the time of year, where people with gardens are harvesting their fruits and vegetables, and for many gardeners, they often have more produce than they know what to do with. While many food shelves don’t take perishable foods, Nancy Crompton of the Good Samaritan Food Shelf in Twin Valley says that they are accepting all kinds of homegrown fruits and vegetables.

Crompton says the Good Samaritan Food Shelf also accepts refrigerated foods, as long as they are not expired.

Lastly, Crompton encourages any community or school organizations that would like to work with the food shelf, to reach out.

The Good Samaritan Food Shelf distributes food every Wednesday from 1:00 to 4:00  at St Williams Catholic Church in Twin Valley.
