Mahnomen School Board exploring new cell phone policy 

The Mahnomen School Board had discussions about potentially adopting a new cell phone policy at their meeting on Monday night. Mahnomen Superintendent Andrea Simon tells us more about the policy they’re considering, which would be similar to the cell phone policy at the Waubun School District. 

Simon says the school board also approved a number of personnel items, which means they’re also looking to fill a number of staff positions. 

Simon says the school board also approved a draft of their 2026/2027 school calendar, which could see some big changes. 

Other items from Monday’s meeting included a NW Council of Collaboratives Agreement, the approval of a student council field trip, and a calling for cleaning services quotes.
