Safe Schools Bill fails to advance in House Education Finance Committee

House File 3493, a bill that would address school safety, was brought forward for a vote in the House Education Finance Committee on Tuesday. During a press conference before the vote, bill author Bryan Lawrence (R-Princeton) spoke more about his bill and what it does. 

Representative Cheryl Youakim (DFL) spoke in opposition of the bill before the vote in committee, and shared some of her reasoning for doing so. 

House File 3493 was then voted on in committee, where it failed to move forward, and will lay over in committee for further discussion.
