Fertile City Council Meets
FERTILE, MN—The Fair Meadow Nursing Home was discussed a couple of times at Monday’s Fertile City Council meeting. The first was approving a loan from the City’s Economic Development Authority to Fair Meadow in case the nursing home’s checking account ran short of funds. Fertile Mayor Brian Nephew says the loan would cover a cash flow problem in Fair Meadow’s checking account.
The City Council also refused to accept a letter from the Fair Meadow Nursing Home’s Advisory Board. The letter, which was presented to the Council at the May meeting, dealt with the Advisory Board’s powers. Fertile City Attorney Cynthia Kirchoff told the Council that the Advisory Board is meant to give advice and not manage the nursing home…and also said the Advisory Board has no authority under state law to supervise or direct the nursing home’s administrator.
Nephew says the Fertile City Council also passed a new ordinance regarding door to door sales.
Nephew adds this new ordinance doesn’t apply to food trucks.
