NOTICE OF JOB OPENING
Norman County Veteran Service Officer – Part Time
This will be a 2 day per week, part time position serving county veterans.
Norman County is seeking a professional, highly organized individual with excellent
customer service and communication skills to fill the Norman County Veteran Service
Officer position. Computer proficiency is required. Training will be provided by MDVA
and other sources.
Applicant must be a Veteran as defined by Minnesota Statute 197.447, a United States
Citizen and a Minnesota Resident, and must achieve National Certification by the
Minnesota Department of Veteran Affairs within one year of hire.
Desirable qualifications:
Associate Degree is preferred but not required
One to two years related experience and/or training
Two years plus administrative experience – or equivalent combination of education
experience.
Applicant may be subject to a background check.
Wage range: $34.52 – $43.00 per hour. There will be a six-month probationary period,
and the position does not qualify for benefits, but does offer prorated vacation, sick and
ESST time off.
