Amy Klobuchar visits Norman County as part of 87 County Tour
US Senator, and Minnesota Gubernatorial Candidate Amy Klobuchar was in Halstad on Wednesday to discuss a number of topics as a part of her 87 County Tour across Minnesota. During her visit with local leaders Klobuchar talked about the importance of investments made into local cooperatives like Red River Valley Co-op Power, and her progress of getting energy investments into the Farm Bill.
When it comes to the Farm Bill, Klobuchar says they are gaining bi-partistan support, and she’s hopeful to pass a new bill soon.
Rich Whitcomb of Red River Valley Co-op Power says the visit with Senator Klobushar went very well, and he also spoke more about the importance of these grants that allowed them to invest in their underground power grid.
Whitcomb says investment into underground power grid across the state has a number of different benefits, especially when it comes to severe weather.
Red River Valley Cop Power has/will be receiving grant dollars for underground investments in Norman, Polk and Clay County.
