Mahnomen Ash Trees To Be Replaced
MAHNOMEN, MN—Ash trees in Mahnomen will be going away for good. At Tuesday night’s Mahnomen City Council meeting, the Council gave the go-ahead to solicit bids for removing the ash trees. Mahnomen City Administrator Taylor Guenther tells us why the ash trees will be removed.
Guenther says the ash trees won’t be removed until October and she tells us why.
The City of Mahnomen plans to replace the ash trees with different types of trees. City staff and University of Minnesota partners will select three tree species for Mahnomen residents to decide what tree they want to replace their ash trees.
