The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council announced yesterday that they are bringing a new exhibit to their gallery at Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls. The exhibit, Self-Taught Artists, Self-Told Stories: a folk art exhibit, will run through November and will have 110 unique pieces of folk art which include Indigenous beading, acrylic and oil paintings, wood carvings, pottery, weaving, metal work, music, and so much more. The exhibit will feature artistic expressions from twenty-seven artists from northwest Minnesota as well as some from the Missouri Ozarks area and some of their pieces will be available for purchase at the exhibit.

The gallery will be open Monday through Frady from 8am to 4:30pm and when other special events are held at the college. A virtual walk through of the exhibit can be found at https://youtu.be/faUB5l8dGLE and an artist reception will be held at the gallery this fall, more details to follow in the coming weeks.
