Pet Central Hosts First-Ever “Tails on the Trail” 5k & Canicross to Support Local Shelter
Pet Central is bringing a brand-new community event to the area this fall, and both two-legged and four-legged runners are invited to join in on the fun.
The inaugural “Tails on the Trail 5k and Canicross” takes place on October 3rd at Bagley City Park, with proceeds benefiting the Clearwater County Humane Society.
The Canicross race kicks off at 10:30 AM, with the traditional 5k starting immediately following the completion of the Canicross. Pet Central’s owner Shonda Brewer takes us through the route.
In addition to the races, attendees can check out local vendors, craft tables, and food trucks, or enter drawings for giveaways from local businesses.
The event offers serious perks for competitors, especially in the Canicross category, as well as goodies for every participant.
Brewer emphasizes that you don’t need to be a competitive runner, or even have a dog, to participate and support the humane society.
Putting together an event like this for the first time has been a major undertaking, but local support has helped bring it together.
Day-of registration and check-in begin at 9:30 AM. Registration is $25 for the 5k and $50 for the Canicross division. Come out to support the Clearwater County Humane Society and enjoy a day on the trails.
