Senior Madison Carsten (Sr., OH, Wadena, Minn.) made history on Friday night in a loss to Minot State, finishing with 12 kills, giving her 1,007 in her illustrious career.

The senior is just the second Golden Eagle ever to have 1,000 career kills and digs.

Carsten hit 1,000 career digs a few games ago on October 17th against Sioux Falls that too was on the road so the Senior hitter managed both her huge milestones away from home. 2026 is the 2nd straight season in which Carsten has averaged over 3 kills per set and she’s currently pacing for a career high in digs per set at a staggering 3.61.

Carsten has been one of the elite players for the University of Minnesota-Crookston team that has had its struggles outside of that, falling to 3-22 in the game and since falling to Mary as well to add a 23rd loss to the season. The Golden Eagles and Madison Carsten will play their final 2 games, both at home, coming up this Friday and Saturday.
