Senator Eken Introduces Drought Relief Bill

St. Paul, MN — District 4 State Senator Kent Eken is hoping to provide some relief to farmers and ranchers still feeling the effects of the extreme drought conditions in the 2021. The bill, which had a hearing in the Senate Agriculture and Rural Development Finance and Policy Committee, would provide financial assistance to livestock farmers and specialty crop producers impacted by the drought through relief loans and grants, according to Senator Eken.

The bill, which is co-authored by Senator Erin Murphy, is expected to be voted on in committee on Monday.
