Hillsboro Close-Up Group Heading to Washington D.C.

Hillsboro, ND — A large group of more than 30 kids will be taking off for the nation’s capitol this weekend. The Hillsboro Close Up groups leaves this Saturday for Washington D.C. where they will visit with legislators, tour the monuments, and get an overall closer look at the ins and out of politics. Hillsboro High School Principal says this one of the largest groups they’ve ever had taking part in this trip.

Close Up is a non-profit and non-partisan organization that believes a strong democracy requires active and informed participation by all citizens and seeks to serve young people from all communities and backgrounds, regardless of race, religion, gender, socioeconomic level, or academic standing. Since 1971, over 900,000 students, teachers, and parents have participated in Close Up’s Washington, DC-based programs.

Close Up’s goal is to engage and inspire every person to find their voice and to help young people develop critical skills for tackling the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
