Ada, MN — The Ada City Council agreed to sell the final five lots in the North Industrial Park during a Special City Council meeting on Tuesday, April 19th. The council had previously rejected an offer earlier this month of $7200 for lots 1 and 12 from Josh Visser, who planned to construct a headquarters for a new construction company. At the special meeting, the council received a new offer from Visser, full price of $4200 but for just lot 12, as well an additional offer of $10,500 for all five lots from Cole Mertz, who plans to construct storage and winterization company. Both were present at the meeting to pitch their offers to the council and the council ultimately chose to accept the offer from Mertz. Ada City Administrator Ashley Larson says because four of the five lots are technically land locked, the city felt the offer to sell all of them was the most valuable.

Larson notes that city was put into a difficult predicament because no matter which offer they accepted, they would be potentially putting a new business on hold.

Visser, an Ada native currently living in Texas but is moving back into the community, plans to continue pursuing options for lots for his construction company.
