(Aitkin, MN) — As the recent rainfall from the severe storms has played into damaging property and the landscape in Aitkin County, the lakes and rivers continue to also see increases in water levels that have been keeping the area in flood warnings.

In our monthly conversation with Aitkin County Sheriff Dan Guida, noted that before the Memorial Day storms, water levels were on the decline.

As for activity among the Sheriff’s Office, Guida mentioned that buoy placement on Aitkin County lakes has been troublesome with the high water levels and con

stant wind.
