Health & Human Services meets with Aitkin County Board

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin County Board of Commissioners held their monthly update with Health and Human Services with presentations from Adult Social Services highlighting the morning of Tuesday, June 27th.
Kim Larson and Nick Anderson gave a presentation on the Comprehensive Re-Entry Program, to assist incarcerated individuals challenged with mental and chemical health illnesses, which has introduced new initiatives to their program.
The CRE Program has also seen challenges since it was introduced in 2016.
In her Director’s update, Cynthia Bennett noted that HHS is awaiting a decision on guidance of passed legislative actions from the State.
Bennett also spoke about the delay in the 2021 yearly report for HHS.
Health and Human Services will next meet with the Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, July 26th beginning at 9am from the Government Center Board Room.
