(Brainerd, MN) — Lakes Area United Way recently announced their 2022 Partner Programs that are putting their time and effort into the Lakes Area communities through many programs and initiatives.

In our monthly update with the United Way, Executive Director Jonathan Aga talked about the United Way now serving Aitkin County.

Seventeen programs and $85,000 were awarded after review from the 2022 Vision Council from the United Way and their volunteers. Aga mentioned one of the Aitkin County programs awarded grant funding included Aitkin County Habitat for Humanity.

One of the draws that intrigued the United Way is Habitat’s work of involving youth in building the home.

Lakes Area United Way also awarded funds to Children’s Dental Services, which has been serving Aitkin County schools and low-income families.

The financial assistance and support that CDS offers aligns with the United Way’s goals.
