The Fosston Greyhounds used a 16-0 run in the first half to help lead them to the 68-57 win over Ada-Borup-West Thursday night in Fosston. The Cougars held a six point lead at 23-17 when the Greyhounds scored the next 16 points to take a 33-23 lead, a lead they would never relinquish. . Fosston took a 33-27 lead into halftime and the closest the Cougars would get in the second half was at four points at 49-45. Zach Theis led Fosston with 18 points and 6 rebounds as the Greyhounds improve to 14-3 overall and 10-1 in the Pine to Prairie Conference. Cullen Norland added 16 points with Carsen Boushee scoring 12 points and Darren Skala 10 for Fosston. The Greyhounds shot 10 of 12 at the free throw line. Cameron Spaeth led Ada-Borup-West with 18 points as the Cougars fall to 15-3 overall and 10-2 in the conference. Spaeth scored his 1,000th career point with a free throw in the second half. Lance Kritzberger pitched in with 12 points for Ada-Borup-West. Both teams will return to action on Tuesday, February 7th with Ada-Borup-West hosting the Bagley Flyers (106.5 FM) and the Greyhounds travelling to Win-E-Mac to take on the Patriots (1480-AM/99.7 FM). Fosston won the “B” Squad game 60-36.
