Ada-Borup-West at Frazee
Recap
Ada-Borup-West 71 Frazee 60
Ada-Borup-West made five of their seven 3-point field goals in the first half and then shot 24 of 31 free throws in the second half for their 8th victory of the season, 71-60. Both teams played hard with a physical brand of basketball. Ada-Borup-West attacked the Hornets full court pressure early which led to the 3-point field goals. Frazee adjusted defensively to erase an 11 point deficit, down to 2 points, 25-23— fueled by an 8-0 run before the visiting Cougars made some key baskets with three starters sitting on the bench with foul troubles. The Cougar reserves helped keep the lead 33-27 at halftime. In the second half, Ada-Borup-West had only six field goals– including back to back 3-point field goals to stretch a three point lead ( 50-47) to nine with just over five minutes to play. Three minutes earlier, Frazee tied the game at 42-42 with 8:10 remaining, then took a short lived 44-43 lead with the Cougars immediately answering for the fourth and final lead change of the game. The Cougars had five players in double figure scoring and the Cougar reserves outscored Frazee’s bench play, 24-7. Ada-Borup-West is 8-12 overall. Frazee is 7-14 overall.
