(Brainerd, MN) — Fresh out of the Conversation Officer Academy Program and right into training in the field, Conservation Officer candidate Ben Ulrich (ull-rick) joined the Wake The Lakes Morning Show last week to chat on important topics related to deer feeding bans ahead of the firearms season at the beginning of November.

Candidate Ulrich spoke about the current state of deer feeding and attractant bans that are in effect in Aitkin and Crow Wing Counties, which does have guidelines in regards to manipulation of the deer population.

Equal opportunity in deer hunting is another concern for deer attractants and feeding bans as well as mitigation of Chronic Wasting Disease.

For salt blocks and other feeds for non-hunting purposes, they are still legal to possess but proper precautions need to be taken in order to in compliance.

DNR Conservation Officer Candidate Ben Ulrich will be stationed in Cambridge once through this training with Conservation Officer Jim Guida.

More of this conversation, which included the topics of enforcement, watercraft safety, small game hunting, Aquatic Invasive Species, and more can be found on the Wake The Lakes page at rjbroadcasting.com.
