Zone 2 First Responders of Crow Wing County seeking donations
Release from Zone 2 First Responders of Crow Wing County and their Facebook page:
Dear Friends & Neighbors:
As 2022 comes towards an end, we’re asking for tax-deductible donations. Your donations will help us with needed medical equipment, operational funds, and training. It will also go towards the future purchasing of a dedicated response vehicle to serve our community.
Zone 2 First Responders provide emergency medical services to the First Assessment District (FAD) of Crow Wing County. When someone dials 911 in an emergency, our volunteers arrive prior to the ambulance to provide a wide range of medical services to support the patient until they can be transported.
Our organization is made up of volunteers that serve our community as Nurses, Paramedics, EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians), EMRs (Emergency Medical Responders), and Firefighters. Many of which are also volunteer members at surrounding fire departments such as Nisswa and Mission Township. Today, our organization has 12 volunteers that respond to emergency calls within the First Assessment District. Last year these volunteers responded to over 200 calls for service within the community. We provide coverage to a population of approximately 5,600 individuals, 2,170 homes, many businesses and over 60 miles of public roads.
We became incorporated this year as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization so we could start raising funds to support our volunteers with purchasing medical equipment and supplies so they could be better equipped to serve our community. Prior to this year our volunteers have used their own equipment, funds, and vehicles for responding to emergency calls. Our goal is to raise enough funds to have a well-stocked inventory of medical equipment, an operational/training fund and ultimately the purchase of a dedicated response vehicle. The response vehicle would carry advanced medical equipment, for example, a LUCAS device which provides mechanical chest compressions to patients in cardiac arrest.
Our members truly appreciate the support we receive from our community and look forward to the year ahead with the potential growth to our organization from your donations.
