Grass Fire Tuesday Morning Southwest of Gary
Gary, MN — Area fire departments responded to a report of a grass fire on Tuesday morning in between Twin Valley and Gary. According to a report from the Norman County Sheriff’s Office, the Twin Valley and Gary Fire Departments were dispatched to the area north of County Road 23 and west of Highway 32 in Strand township after a hunter in his stand noticed smoked and upon further investigation, discovered that his hunting land was on fire. The high winds at the time allowed the fire to spread rapidly, but fire crews were able to get it under control. It’s estimated that around 5 acres were burned in the blaze. Its not known at this time what may have caused the fire.
