Hillsboro City Commission News & Notes from February 21st Meeting
Hillsboro, ND — The Hillsboro City Commission held their second regular monthly meeting on Tuesday night, February 21st at the Main Street Community Center. The commission discussed recent complaints that the city had been getting regarding Anchor Ingredients, specifically with dust control from the facility. Hillsboro City Commission President Levi Reese state that are continuing to work with Anchor to address the issue, but in the meantime are requesting residents submit complaints in writing so that they can better understand and address the issue.
The commission also this week approved a connection fee for the Riverwalk Addition to be connected into the Kingman Sewer, according to President Reese.
The fee will be right around $87,000, according to Reese.
And in an effort to continue to improve the audio quality of their commission meetings, which are live streamed online at YourLiveEvent.com, the commission agreed to upgrade their mic system as well.
Also in recent months, the commission had received complaints about the local Dollar General, but Reese was happy to report that their issues are being addressed.
The Hillsboro City Commission also approved an ordinance that would allow for outdoor alcoholic beverage consumption during Hillsboro Days, discussed various business tax incentives, and approved amendments to their 2022 budget.
