Burgum appoints new Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation director
North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum appointed Colby Braun as the new interim director for the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
Braun will replace current director Dave Krabbenhoft, who is retiring on December 31.
Braun has previously served as warden of North Dakota State Penitentiary, Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation director of transitional facilities and as warden of the Dakota Women’s Correctional and Rehabilitation Center.
Braun earned a bachelor’s degree from Dickinson State University and began his career in corrections in 1997 as a correctional officer at the Southwest Multi-County Correction Center in Dickinson.
The Office of the Governor says that the process of selecting a permanent director is still underway.
