Ada Borup West approves 2026 budget

The Minnesota State Education Bill was a major talking point at the Ada Borup West School Board meeting on Tuesday morning, as school districts across the state are gearing up for future cuts, and funding shortfalls after no budget increases to education this year. Ada Borup West Superintendent Aaron Cook says this was not a surprise, and he tells us how the district is planning to deal with it moving forward. 

The Ada Borup West School Board did approve a budget for the 2026 fiscal year, and Cook tells us what the budget will look like. 

In other board news, Cook says the school board approved the purchase of a new curriculum, across multiple subjects, and age groups. 

Tuesday’s meeting was bittersweet, as the board approved the resignations and retirements of some long time staff members, and Cook thanked them for their dedication, and years of service to the Ada Borup West School District. 

Other agenda items including the approval of a new superintendent contract with Aaron Cook through the 2027 school year.
