Ada Borup West Civics Class Tours Courthouse

ADA, MN — On Thursday, the Ada-Borup-West civics class met with Norman County Sheriff Ben Fall and Attorney Elizabeth Brainard to tour the courthouse complex, learn about the various departments and learn about courtroom procedures. The class had just completed a unit culminating in a mock trial. 

The tour included a brief lesson on the history of Norman County and the courthouse, and the tour included stops by the 911/dispatch center, various Norman County departments, the law library, and the jury deliberation room.  The tour ended in the courtroom where the students had the opportunity to learn about different roles in the courtroom, and to hear about different parts of trials.
