Ada, MN — The Ada City Council held their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday night at Ada Council Chambers where they appointed an Interim Police Chief, discussed a lot sale request, and approved new precincts.

With current city of Ada Police Chief Jody Bueng still sidelined until now at least this summer, the council moved forward with appointing Officer Steve Hager as Interim Chief. Ada City Administrator Ashley Laron says the council made the decision based on seniority between the two full-time officers.

The Ada City Council also discussed a purchase request for lots 1 & 12 in the North Industrial Park. The offer of $7200 was $1000 below the full price for both lots. The Ada EDA recommended the council only accept the full price because if those lots were purchased, the three remaining lots would be landlocked, according to Larson.

And the council approved resolutions establishing new precincts and combining polling places at this week’s meeting. Administrator Larson notes that county commission is redistricting and a portion of the northwest corner of town will now be represented by a different commission district, and the resolutions approved on Tuesday night would allow for that realignment.

Also approved on Tuesday night were mowing contracts, a number of donation requests, and the annual liquor and other city licenses.
