Ada City Council holds special session

The Ada City Council met in special session Wednesday night. Mayor John Hintz tells R&J news the update on the Ada Events Center which was shut down earlier this month when structural engineers deemed the building structurally unsafe.

The event center was home to Main Street Bar. Mayor Hintz says the council took
action on an addendum to the lease agreement with Main Street Bar.

As R&J has been reporting on the repairs and maintenance project at the Dekko Community Center. the price tag for this project continues to go up as some additional
issues for repairs have been found. Mayor Hintz provides details on this and what this process is.

The Ada City Council did receive some good news on the price of new furnaces for the Dekko center. At a previous meeting, the council had a price quote of approximately $19,000 for furnace and installation, since then Dekko manager Brianna Eggen received a $9,838 quote from local Ada businessman Tim Sargent of Sargent Heating and Air Conditioning. The council approved this and the project will now get started.
