Ada, Mn — The Ada City Council held their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 7th at Council Chambers. Part ways through the meeting, a concerned citizen dropped in to voice concerns over receiving a citation this past winter for not moving their car following a snow storm. While the council understood their particular situation, Ada Mayor John Hintz says they remain firm on their current ordinances that are in effect to properly maintain safe city streets during the winter.

The council also this week agreed to move forward with bonus pay for their two full time officers for putting in extra hours and giving up vacation time while the Police Chief recovered from Covid complications.

While the city is still waiting to hear if they will receive the Home Rehabilitation Grant, Mayor Hintz says they did get word they will once again be able to receive the USDA Revolving Loan Grant funding, but this time in the amount of $80,000 plus a match from the city.

The Ada City Council also approved $12,000 for the purchase of a new lawn mower for public works, approved the first reading of the ordinance amending council salaries, and approved the purchase of a new condenser and exhaust fan for the Dekko Community Center.

Councilmembers Josh Mathsen and Scott Erickson are scheduled to join the KRJB Kaleidoscope Program this Thursday to further recap this week’s meeting.
