Voters in Ada have chosen a new mayor.  Shawn Roux was elected Tuesday with 418 votes, compared to 160 for Wayne Kroshus and 120 for James Austinson.  There were four seats on the Ada City Council on the ballot, with Adam Sip, Alex Tuttle, Jeff Peacock and Ron Vilmo receiving the most votes.  Jason Kroshus and Mark Brownlee were the two candidates falling short.

Looking at Norman County races, County Attorney Elizabeth Brainard was defeated by Sunny Resnick 1432 votes to 1051.  In the Norman County Commission races, Ada Mayor John Hintz defeated Thomas Opheim to win the District 4 seat by 20 votes—279 to 259.  In District 2, Josh Mathsen defeated Jesse Lee by 6 votes—222 to 216.  And in District 3, Andrew Jossund defeated Angela Nelson 333 to 264.

In Gary, Kelly (Buck) Engen was re-elected Mayor, running unopposed.  Bryan Thronson and “Missy” Netland were elected to the Gary City Council.

Over in Halstad, Darin Johnson was re-elected mayor.  But it will be a while before we know who was elected to the Halstad City Council because all 89 votes were write-ins.  Only when the ballots are canvassed will the two council members be known.

Melford Hutchens was elected Mayor of Perley, edging Lee Langei 25 votes to 23.  Keri Plemmons and Dean Johnson received the most votes for two seats on the Perley City Council.

And in the Ada-Borup-West School Board election, Faye DeLong, Jared Heitman and Amy Traut received the most votes out of seven candidates.  Incumbent Dena Bishop was not re-elected to the Board.
