Ada Police Chief discusses legislation affecting School Resource Officer programs
Ada Police Chief Steve Hager was on Tuesday’s Kaleidoscope Program to discuss topics affecting local law enforcement. One of these topics was the recent Minnesota Legislation that has caused law enforcement agencies to pause their SRO programs. Hager discusses these laws and Attorney General Keith Ellison’s interpretation of the laws.
Hager also discussed the reaction and lack of response by democratic lawmakers to these concerns brought up by state law enforcement agencies and schools and gave his opinions on the debacle.
Earlier this summer the Ada Police Department and Ada-Borup-West School district explored the possibility of adding a SRO program. Despite these setbacks both parties continue to pursue a SRO Program.
You can listen to the entire conversation with Chief Hager on rjbroadcasting.com under Kaleidoscope in the programming tab.
