Aitkin County Board approve Community Grants, Rum River 1W1P at July 12th meeting

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin County Board of Commissioners Meeting from Tuesday, July 12th featured further talks on the Run River 1 Water, 1 Plan from the Government Center Board Room.

The Board heard from Economic Development Coordinator Mark Jeffers on awarding a pair of Community Grants totaling just over $14,000.

Those grants were awarded by the Board unanimously. Aitkin County Soil and Water Conservation District Buffer Specialist Sam Seybold outlined the adoption and implementation of the Rum River 1W1P.

The Plan was adopted with Commissioner Don Niemi as the alternate County Board Representative. Approval for the Run River Joint Powers Agreement was also given by Commissioners.

County Administrator Jessica Seibert mentioned her office is coming upon the beginning of the budget season.

The Aitkin County Board of Commissioners will hold their next regular meeting, and their update with Health and Human Services, is scheduled for July 26th from the Government Center Board Room.
