Aitkin County Board meeting from August 9th

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin County Board of Commissioners held their first August meeting Tuesday from the Government Center Board Room with Budget Presentations from Health and Human Services and General Government highlighting the majority of the meeting.

Environmental Services Director Andrew Carlstrom began the meeting by presenting a Patriot Award to County Administrator Jessica Seibert.

HHS Director Cynthia Bennett, sitting in for Fiscal Supervisor Carli Goble, touched on the Department’s 2023 revenues coming from multiple sources.

County Engineer John Welle spoke to Commissioners on a resolution for MnDOT to conduct a Speed Zone Study for County Highway 37.

The resolution for approving the Speed Zone Study was approved by the Board. Administrator Seibert went into the General Government Budget which is broken up from the various County Departments.

Further Budget meetings and presentations will be made over the next few Board meetings. The Aitkin County Board of Commissioners meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 23rd at 9am from the Government Center Board Room.
