Aitkin County Board of Commissioner meeting recaps from December 20th
At the December 20th meeting of the Aitkin County Board of Commissioners,
Soil and Water Conservation District Forester and AIS Coordinator Kyle Frederickson had some good news about the Aquatic Invasive Species inspections this past boating season:
A resolution for the Woodseth Work Plan and Fee Amendment for the Mille Lacs ATV Trail was approved. The Minnesota DNR Heritage Forest Project Confirmation Letter was also approved, as were several other items. The Board met with the new State Legislators who will be representing Aitkin County.
Approved resolutions included the 2023 Commissioner and Elected Officials Salaries, 5-Year Capital Improvement Plan, and 2023 Budget, Levy, and Supporting Resolutions. The 2023 Levy was set at $16,945,046 and the 2023 Budget was set for $40,202,174.

On December 20th the Aitkin County Board Of Commissioners met in the Government Center Board Room for their regular monthly meeting. Community Corrections Director Kami Genz presented the 2023 Interim Comprehensive Plan for the program and the budget, which was approved.
A resolution for the Woodseth Work Plan and Fee Amendment for the Mille Lacs ATV Trail was presented by Land Commissioner Dennis Thompson:
The resolution was approved, as was the Minnesota DNR Heritage Forest Project Confirmation Letter and the FSC Forest Management RecertificationOther items that were approved included a Lakes Storage Valhalla 65 Plat and Long Point Storage Plat after presentations from Environmental Services Director Andrew Calrstrom.
