(Aitkin, MN) — Aitkin County CARE and the McGregor ANGELS are partnering together with sponsor the Northland Foundation for a free seminar, ‘ Community Connection as You Age’, twice this April to cover topics including End of Life Services, Driving and Mobility capabilities, and Opioid Drug Use and Pain Management.
We spoke recently with CARE Executive Director Lynne Jacobs about the events taking place at Aitkin and McGregor High School Auditoriums and visitors can drop off their unused medications.
Driving and Mobility capabilities for Senior Citizens and the aging population will steer them into the right direction with new technology with their first presentation.
End of Life Doula and Coping with Grief will cover those tough topics that need to prepare family and loved ones for the inevitable.
Following a break for exercise and a lunch, participants will be able to check out and speak to some of the exhibitors including Aitkin County Public Health and a program of sending back old medications.
And last but not least, Opioid Drug Use and Pain Management will have speakers with first hand experiences of addiction and recovery.
Jacobs also said that pre-registration is preferred and can be done so online at www.aitkincountycare.org, calling CARE at 218-927-1383, or call the McGregor ANGELS at 218-768-2762.
‘Community Connection as You Age’ will be April 23rd at the McGregor High School Auditorium and April 30th at the Aitkin High School Auditorium. Both seminars will be from 9am-3pm.
