Aitkin County Care setting up many Dementia events for August

(Aitkin, MN) — Giving the proper outlet for Dementia caregivers to share their experiences with others like them will be one of a few opportunities for Aitkin County CARE to show the importance and bring more information to the crippling disease.

In our monthly chat with Aitkin County CARE Executive Director Lynne Jacobs talked about the Dementia Caregiver Support Group that meets monthly.

Starting next week, CARE will also open up a new event that brings many people affected by dementia together.

Jacobs also talked about CARE’s “Dementia Friends” class and how people can become an ally.

The Dementia Friends calls will be held Monday, August 15th at 11am from the CARE officer in Aitkin.  Another special partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association will be coming to Aitkin for a special class later this month.
