Aitkin County HHS meeting with Board of Commissioners from February 28th

The Aitkin County Board of Commissioners met with Health & Human Services Tuesday, .
In her Director’s Report, HHS Director Sarah Pratt highlighted the end of the emergency food assistance program through SNAP that began during the pandemic.

The program will end April 1st.

HHS Public Health Nurse Liz Short presented the Aitkin County Opioid Settlement to Commissioners, with a brief historical overview of the epidemic.

Short also mentioned the financial effect of opioid related disorders and fatal opioid overdose, reaching hundreds of thousands, even millions of dollars.

Health and Human Services will next meet with the Aitkin County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, March 28th at 9am in the Government Center Board Room.
