Aitkin County SWCD ‘Photo Contest’ to reward boaters for AIS Prevention

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin County Soil and Water Conservation District is taking a new initiative in battling aquatic invasive species and will be rewarding the public for their help.

In our conversation with SWCD Manager Steve Hughes, he talked about what people can do to enter a giveaway  by sending in a photo.

A monthly and grand prize winner during the open water season will have a choice in their prize.

Hughes highlighted the importance of the giveaway being eliminating AIS from the Lakes area.

The information being sent with the photo is just going to be record keeping purposes and to contact a winner.

Send your photos for your chance to win a kayak or cash to aitkinais@gmail.com, by mail (Aitkin County SWCD 307 Second St. NW, Aitkin, MN 56431), or drop them off at the SWCD office in the Aitkin County Government Center, second floor. The photo should also include the person’s name, phone number, and the lake or river that the photo was taken on.
