Aitkin Police arrest two on drugs, weapons charges

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin Police Department executed a search warrant and retrieved drugs and weapons from a residence in Aitkin on March 31st.

The warrant was executed at 3 8th Avenue Northwest in Aitkin and resulted in the arrest of Jennifer Marie Hansen, age 38, of Aitkin, and Angela Kathryne Bassett, age 42, of Onamia. 

Hansen was taken in on 5 counts including: Count 1 – Felony controlled Substance Crime 3rd Degree – Possess Methamphetamine in a School Zone; Count 2 – Felony Controlled Substance Crime 5th Degree – Possession; Count 3- Gross Misdemeanor Controlled Substance 5th Degree Possession; Count 4 – Misdemeanor Possession of Hypodermic Needle/Syringe; Count 5- Petty Misdemeanor Possession of of Drug Paraphernalia.

Bassett was arrested on 3 charges including: Felony Controlled Substance Crime 3rd Degree – Possess Methamphetamine in a School Zone; Count 2 – Felony Controlled Substance Crime 5th Degree – Possession; Count 3 – Gross Misdemeanor Dangerous Weapons – Metal Knuckles/Switchblade.

The case is considered under investigation.
