(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin Public School Board meeting from Monday, July 25th covered staff and personnel hirings, discussed the Long Term Facilities Maintenance 10-year plan, Strategic Plan, among other topics from the High School Media Center.

Superintendent Dan Stifter spoke on the renewal of the District’s membership with the Minnesota State High School League.

Approval was given for the renewal. Business Manager Heather Hipp spoke on approving the Long Term Facilities Maintenance 10-year plan.

The 10-year plan was approved as well as the Community Education Contract, Meal Prices for 2022-2023, and the IOWA Resolution.

Later in the meeting, Superintendent Stifter spoke about getting positive movement to start the Curriculum Committee.

The Aitkin School Board did approve the hirings of Jason Oestreich as Industrial Tech Teacher, James Henrickson as Dean of Students, Bruce Wilcox as Paraprofessional, Rooco DiPaolo as Agriculture Teacher/FFA for the 2022-2023 School Year. The resignations of Paraprofessional Sarah Torelli, Special Education Teacher Cheryl Houde, and Administrative Assistant Mary Aulie were accepted by the Board.

The Aitkin Public School Board will hold their next meeting on Monday, August 15th at 6:30pm from the High School Media Center.
