April is STI Awareness Month 

April is STI Awareness Month, and Norman Mahnomen public health is participating, by bringing awareness to our communities. Tammy Carlsrud of Norman Mahnomen Public Health tells us more about STI Awareness Month, and what it promotes. 

Carlsrud also spoke more on the importance of educating young people about STIs, as they can be the ones most at risk of receiving one. 

Youth often believe a stigma around STIs, that they don’t happen to people in our communities. Carlsrud says that’s not true, and she talks about the most common STI’s that happen in our area.
